Born December 14, 1503 and with a deep lineage of doctors on his fathers side, Nostradamus was by all accounts an intellegent and focused child. By mid-adolescense he had mastered both Greek, and Latin, as well as mathmatics. He followed his fathers lineage to the study of medicine and by the age of 21 had received his licence in the healing arts.

For some years he traveled and applyed his skills to a medical condition known at the time as "Le Charbon" which was a serious plague of the time. It wasn't until the mid 1550's that Nostradamus wrote the his "Centuries" which was a book of ten chapters, each containing 100 quatrains.
