Destinations the Jersey Devil:
In the third week of January 1909, fear griped southern New Jersey as reports of sightings and animal mutilations poured in. A winged creature unlike any we've known, is reportedly on the loose and hunger if not rage drives it on it's wild rampage. Eye witness accounts describe the Jersey Devil as half beast, half man.

Originally called "Leed's Devil", the Jersey Devil is folklore initiated in the mid 1700's and focusing on the township of Leed's Point, New Jersey. Leed's Point is less than 15 miles northeast of Atlantic City in southeast New Jersey. Over a million acres of forests cover southern New Jersey which no doubt promotes a "spookiness", thereby fueling any fear and deepening the mystery. Although there are many variations to the legend, consistent is the family named Leeds and the town of Leed's Point in each.

the Jersey Devil's favorite haunt is Burlington County, New Jersey
Eyewitness accounts of the Jersey Devil number in the thousands over the last two centuries and although the description varies somewhat, common reports are that it has a horse shaped head, bat like wings, and a tail.

Joseph Bonaparte, former King of Spain and brother of Napoleon Bonaparte, claimed to have seen the Jersey devil in Bordentown, NJ while on a hunting expedition.
