California Missions:

21 missions were constructed in California beginning Close to the current Mexico border in the location of present day San Diego California and proceeded northward along the coastline as far north as the vicinity of Napa California. The footpath that developed between the missions became known as El Camino Real translated as "The Royal Road" or "Kings Highway".
